Discovered in 1745 by a Swiss astronomer, the Eagle Nebula is a frequently photographed nebula because of its complex internal structures and large outer formations. In wide field images the nebula looks like a bird with its wings held wide open while close up one can find many "knots" such as the pillars of creations. Standing proudly, these pillars were formed by the erosive nature of stellar wind from nearby massive stars, they likely are no longer there since its light left almost 6,500 years ago.

Each photograph is available in 5" x 7", 8" x 10", 11" x 14", and 16" x 20" and comes with an informational card of the back.
